Title: EOTP CGI Model Release - Marauder Class Destroyer

While not an ingame model; checking in at close to 600,000 polies is the CGI edition of the Maruader Class Destroyer. These are some renders I took, and given my piss poor MAX abilities, don't do this model justice but still look pretty good.

No offense, but have you seen D.O.G.A.? A low poly Japanese program. There's a whole slew of DOGA WIP pics on here or Game-Warden...

I'm not a modeler, so could never get most of my experiments to work in game.

You can get close to the same look of that kind of model for a fraction of the polys (and after correcting faces/joints) could get it in game...

Agreed, polycount != awesome. Decent modeling, OKish design, way overblown polycount.

It may have a high polycount (that's pre-cleanup); but its a pretty damn good model (Unknown/Getter). It looks every bit as good as some of the high end stuff on SFM, and with proper post will serve as at least foreground in a FX scene for my pilot, or pre-rendered cutscene for a game/mod, perhaps focus, though that depends on good at looks with real post. That's just a render with a skybox and no background.

(Do I sense a measure of hostility coming from you Getter? :P)

I'd agree, it doesn't seem that detailed for such a high polycount

(I converted two fighters for you last year remember?)

I failed at the Gladius (cap ship, never mastered multi-part turrets)...
