Title: Awesome new explosion detail

I've been noticing a bright orange flash or pulse around ships just as they explode. It looks really, really good, and it helps the detonations look much more believable.

Unfortunately, it's inexplicably stopped appearing. I'm using the 3.6.10 MediaVP Betas with a recent trunk build (the first to incorporate normal maps, I believe.)

Any idea what's going on? Also, who added this? I want to congratulate them.

...possibly. How can I toggle it on/off to see if that's what's responsible?

Scripts work if they're in Scripting.tbl. Check your FreeSpace folder and move the table file. If the file is in a VP(it shouldn't be there, anyway) move the VP... :)

Funny. I don't think this is it.

EDIT: found it. Whatever it is, it's in the 3.6.10 Advanced MVPs. I had deactivated those and forgotten about it.
