I'm aware this may be in the wrong forum - sorry if it is, but I searched and couldn't find any thread about my problem.
I've recently installed derelict using the fancy java installer, along with some of the other vp's for textures and so on. I've been playing the FS1 port, no problems, good times and so on, but I remembered how much I enjoyed derelict so i installed that using the installer and loaded it up. Here's where the problem lies. Everything loads just fine, even voices, but I *cannot select any weapons* in the loadout screen, and the only weapons the game gives me is 60 hornets. So basically, there are no weapons to select in the loadout screen apart from hornet missiles. THis, as you might guess, is a bit of a bugger.
Any ideas/solutions? My derelict folder has the DerelictSCP.vp plus all the voice parts, and just to be sure i've loaded it in the launcher using "original freespace 2" settings - the same bug seems to occur no matter what settings I use.
Any ideas?
Thanks

One thing to try is creating a new pilot.
I believe there also was a recent thread about how to get Derelict working. Nevermind it was another mod.

System specs? You've remembered to select the right campaign in-game? You have proper mods selected? Derelict should be run either with just the Derelict as a mod, or with Derelict and the MediaVPs as a mod.
-
System specs - erm, easily enough to handle it, 3.5ghz, 4g ram - only thing of interest is that I'm on XP. I've selected the right campaign in game (derelict, of course). I've selected the right mod in the open launcher. I'm running just the mod and mediavps. (it's C:\games\FreeSpace2\fs2_open_3_6_9.exe -mod derelict, mediavps)
Still no joy.
:sigh:

Usually when we ask about system specs, it's not really about whether the rig "can handle it" or not, but rather more about some quircs, such as infamous graphics cards or something.
Download the Recommended build for Windows users from my signature. Extract the .exes to \freespace2\. Select the 3.6.10 debug build. Run. Once it (hopefully) crashes, quit, find fs2_open. log in \freespace2\data\ and post it here either as an attachment or using the "code" tags.
As a side note, yes. This is a tad bit wrong board. Missions and Campaigns would be a good choice. Or better yet, my very own Support board. Moderators/administrators can act if they feel the need to do so.

Here's the log.
In terms of graphics cards, I have an NVIDIA Geforce 7800 GTX - hope that's not a quirky one, the game does seem to run quite well anyway.

Move the FSPort files to \freespace2\fsport\. They're causing your problems.
And I think you've messed the MediaVPs up a bit. It seems that you have both the 3.6.8's and the 3.6.10's. And they're located in \freespace2\mediavps\ and \freespace2\. It is not recommended. Choose one of the releases and place the files to \freespace2\mediavps\. Don't place any mod files to \freespace2\.

Tried that all. Still the same problem (no weapons).
Attached the log again.

You still have a mixture of MediaVPs. Choose either
- all the files beginning with mv_ and mp-710
or
- all the files beginning with MV_ (notice the case difference).
Initializing OpenGL graphics device at 1280x1024 with 16-bit color...
Also, 16-bit colours are more likely to cause issues than 32-bit colours. In addition, in order to properly use non-4:3 aspect ratios, you'd be well advised to use the normal 3.6.10 build you downloaded. 3.6.9 has certain graphical oddities with aspect ratios that are not 4:3.
And... did you try to create a new pilot after moving the files around? The old one might be a bit messed up.

It's all working.
Thank you very much indeed!
