Stuff is dropping fast and furiously lately -
CDF Thane Class Escort Carrier; 40 fighters, composed of one squadron each of interceptors, fighters, and bombers (bomber squadron is split between light and heavy); the remaining 4 fighters are 2 stealth recon fighters, an AWACs, and a SAR craft.
It carries 8 point defense cannons, and shields.

how are you going to keep fighters from flying thru the fighter bay?

It has a forceshield over the bay. Flying into it would be....most unfortunate. :)

I would assume it's just an invisible wall, like on the Demon and Orion.
I really like the side and rear views, but the front of the ship is lacking something. It could use a painted symbol or text, and maybe some exposed sensor equipment.

but then how would the fighters fly out? the reason it works on the demon is because you can't see the fighter inside the ship. in this one you can.

I'm glad you like my redesign and model. This one was done in approx' 2 days from start to finish. Model is 300k, which while some of you have posted in my marauder thread that yoseph posted is relatively low for the detail. The marauder has a lot of detail you cannot directly see, I assure you it's fine for the poly count. Also remember we're talking TRIs here, NOT polygons. The Thane is 187k polygons, 300+k tris, Marauder was 480k polygons and 590k tris.
Anyway, glad ya'll like it. Enjoy, more is coming.

As a side note: I agree the front is lacking somehow. I have to avoid sensor arrays because then it'll be too much like a popular stargate design with all know and love. However a symbol is a possibility. I'll look into that and get back to ya'll.

Maybe it works like a star-wars w/wing commander field. This is a custom universe.

I meant how does it work ingame? ofcourse, now I realize that this model is just for cutscenes.

Topgun; I'm not sure if you can have a open flight bay that's "fly throughable" in the game.
In all likelyhood it will be an invisable wall that you can't fly through.
Though I have this idea for a cutscene that will be awesome - a flight of 2 CDF interceptors being persued by 6-8 League fighters.
They roar through the flight bay, and the league fighters go to follow....right as the forceshield pops up. All of them slam into it and explose, ID4 alien mothership shields style.

Perhaps a few turrets/windows/antennas on the front will make it more intresting :)
But how are you going to make a landing sequence. I mean will the fighters stay inside the bays or just disappear, when flying into them?
Oh, and BTW, I made a space fighter some time ago and it looks similar a little to the EOTP type, so if you like it and have a room for one more fighter i could give it to you (to be honest, it`s one of the few of my models, which I`m actually proud of, and I`d love to see it in some game ;] )
