Title: How do I make my OWN missions?

Guys:

I once asked if any more player created missions were available & some enterprising chap told me to use FRED to make my own missions; well now, JUST to give you an idea how bad I am RE: Computer 'stuff' I have to ask:

WHERE is FRED in the 'Wing Commander Saga' demo? No doubt even MORE questions will follow after I get this answer!

FreeSpace Editor (FRED).  WC: Saga...using a modified version of the FreeSpace 2 engine...is also using a modified version of FRED2 to edit the missions.  WC Saga missions are much more complex than standard FreeSpace missions as well.  Not for the feint of heart.

FRED isn't included in the Prologue, it must be downloaded separately.

You can grab a recent build of FRED from the Recent Builds forum or from the tools download section of the WC Saga web site.

AND I wasn't even able to do anything in Freespace! So I guess I'll just leave somebody else to make a mission...

      FREDDing honestly isn't that hard. And there's lots of people willing to help in the FRED discussion board. Don't give up before you've tried.

Yep, try the included tutorial first. then you should get a good idea on how to script missions.
Saga is using a few very very complex self made scripts to get its stuff working, so it is a bit harder to do than normal FS2 missions, but it's possible =)

Actually it is fairly easy to make a mission as long as you skip autopilot sequences. Why don't you start with a simply gauntlet mission? ;)

FRED isn't that hard...just need to spend some time with it.  Its the WC: Saga autopilot events that really hurt the brain (hurts mine :)).  I need to spend more time to figure it out but don't have that time available anymore. Tolwyn is right...a gauntlet mission is very easy to setup.
