I found this site quite resourceful, and I think he should be commended on his work, I hope this helps many people. It has excellent maps of each planet in the solar system, but for Earth I think starting from scratch would be more reasonable.

Raptor one of the Forum Moderators created a really good sun tutorial using Photoshop6, and everyone though PS was small...haha its actually quite useful. :p
