Title: Refined search parameters?
Post by: Colonol Dekker on August 23, 2008, 05:24:05 am
Do the search boxes support wildcards, if-so which?
My aim is to run a search for all the topics i ever created. Both as me and as past incarnations.

A quick example would help.
*Or a filter in "view user posts"

Without access to the database I do not believe it is possible for you to query a list of all topics you or someone else has created. You can however find all posts you've posted by going to your profile --> show posts.

* and ? are allowed I believe. But entering a wildcard alone doesn't work.

Wildcards cannot achieve what you want because there is no option to list only topics you have started. Regardless of wildcards used, the search will query for any topic you've posted to. Even then, you'd need something to search for as Snail conveniently put it.

The closest thing you have is the listing of posts in your profile.
