i don't know if this is just the end of the campaign or what but when the er... main ship (oh god help me out here) goes down in the red alert mission the screen is black and the controls don't work also i cant warpout is this normal? (if this is a stupid question please assume that i'm kidding) thanks
-
Main ship?
Blue or red?
-
the ship that was attacked by the gti in a red alert mission
goes somthing like return to base immediately the (gaaah - facepalm- ) is under attack
-
The Hades?
-
Krios?
-
This is most certainly a silent threat.
I think he means the Krios. That station that comes under attack.
-
This is most certainly the stupid red-alert mission where the Krios goes boom like the escape pods you're supposed to protect. Seems to happen quite often. Were you using 3.6.9? 3.6.10 builds might work better.
-
yes thank you - why isn't it in the wiki?
oh well doesn't matter
anyway i'm using 3.6.9 because to update i need to run an ethernet cable like 3 or4 hundred feet to my basement from my router.
is there a way to fix the problem without reinstalling or resorting to crude violence?
(oh by the way lobo thanks for always answering the questions i don't know how you manage to and to be honest it's kinda scary - but awesome)

You could find a computer that has Interwebz, download the Recommended build for Windows users from my signature (and possibly 7-Zip), use a data storage device of your choice to move it/them to your actual computer and bingo: you'd have a new build.

Most of the time people ask the same questions, so it's not really that challenging.
-
but can i fix the issue without a new build???
-
Only by editing the mission most likely. And if you don't have VPView or another VP editor you'd need to download it anyway.
-
You could try playing with retail, since FSPort is one of those few retail-compatible mods. Naturally, you must create a new pilot and play it all again.
-
You need to get a USB pen drive, 1-2gbs should do you and then you can transfer files at whim. They're not too expensive these days.
-
i know, i know. and the sad thing is that i have one. it's mainly a time issue so i'll probably wait until i find that dam pci slot so i will have interwebz on my gaming computer.
