I don't know much about them, but I'm thinking about getting one so I can watch TV in my room, without having to buy an actual TV. I'm looking for something cheaper than a TV but still a decent product. Doesn't have to be a capture card, but that would be cool if it doesn't cost too much. Educate me please.

i have an asus that only cost $40 and it also lets you plug in a dvd player/ vcr.

Anything else? Anyone? What about Hauppauge? I see that name show up a lot. Is it worth splurging for one?

apparently the hauppauge cards are crap according to people who actually bought the card, and generally more expensive. however their are tv tuner cards out their that you can watch tv through which are far more better. i have had a tv tuner card for 8 years and amazingly it works with several different systems and the best bit was it found it on a jumbo sale for only 2 of your standard dollars in the usa. it works as i said with different waves like; standard tv waves, digital waves and direct beam as long as you have a dish attached to the side of your house.
hmm i have seen cards that are good and are quiet cheap indeed. if i can find these sites i can direct you to such cards.

Yes, please. What kind of card do you have that's so great?

Actually, pretty much everyone of consequence on this board (those who use tuners) swear by Hauppage. Ask Kazan.
