LG's W2452T-PF (http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/w2452t.jhtml) at 325€
Samsung's T240 (http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=computersperipherals&type=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_cd=LS24TWHSUV/ZA&fullspec=F) at 355€
Acer's P243 (http://acer.com/products/monitor/P_series.htm) at 329€
Alternative links for those of you who can handle non-english languages are here (http://www.pixmania.com/pt/pt/1159824/art/samsung/monitor-tft-24-wide-syncm.html?form=59#tech-specs), here (http://www.pixmania.com/pt/pt/1414560/art/lg/monitor-tft-24-w2452t-pf.html) (place holder until it's in stock, not much to see) and here (http://www.pixmania.com/pt/pt/632245/art/acer/monitor-tft-24-wide-p243w.html?form=84#tech-specs).
If you feel there's some better product than these at the same price range, feel free to comment on it, but keep in mind that in some backwater parts of the globe (read, here) some products may be unavailable or much more expensive due to shipping and mysterious mumbo-jumbo.
Anyway, you know the drill, fight... discuss!

I've heard that Acer treats their customers poorly.

Every Acer laptop I have touched has sucked in one way or another; therefore by association I would not get an Acer LCD display. But who knows, they might actually make good displays and put all the suck on their laptops.
LG, no experiences with them, but I hear they make some reasonably good stuff.
I myself have a Samsung 22" widescreen display (SyncMaster 226BW), and so far so good (althoug the model apparently has been sold in many versions with some differences in panel quality/colour balance, but as the same product... so you might want to dig around a little and see if you find any reasonably reliable dirt from reviews). Also, I've had good experiences with a 17" Hyundai ImageQuest L72D display, and that's my experience about LCD displays.
EDIT: also, I would avoid any glossy panels because of all the reflection issues, but that's a matter of personal taste as well. Some like it shiny. I prefer seeing what I'm supposed to. :p

Pick a monitor from the above topic and live happily ever after.
I got myself LG L227WT.

The multimedia section is good for most users, good for gaming. The gaming monitors sacrifice quality for response times, for hardcore gamers only.
Remember that when looking at that thread.

Thanks for the input.
Regarding that thread, it references two monitors I list here, but the LG one isn't refered to although I'd wager this is due to it being new rather than any other factor. Still, something nice to know.

I have Samsung 226CW, they also had BW-models in stock, but I thought to play for sure and get the one with Samsung Panel. 226cw's pretty good, and certainly better than the old 19" CRT I had.
