Only to a certain extent. It helps develop finger dexterity, but as soon as you reach a certain "level", it's starts not paying off. The reason for this is that while finger dexterity is good for both, you reach a certain point where to increase your ability in one or the other, you have to develop a feeling for the keyboard. That is muscle memory for where the keys are. And since we don't play piano in QWERTY keyboards and write in piano keyboards...
