Title: Freespace 2 open launcher
Post by: RogerioFN on September 01, 2008, 05:42:08 pm
For some reason when I start the launcher it doesn't open, when I look at the process running it's there, but won't work. What should I do?
Please I know it worked once in my PC, but now that I reinstalled it, it isn't anymore. By the way I'm running at Vista.

Thanks in advance.

Well you dindn't state what OS you are using.  First thing to try is just rebooting.  After that try the Launceher55d (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/Launcher55d.rar)  If that doesn't do it did you move FS2 from one PC or directory to another?

Sorry my brain hasn't officially classified vista as a valid OS.

Someone had this (or a very) similar issue a while back. Then he reformatted his Vista machine. Then it worked.

Try running the launcher at least once as the administrator. Especially if it has never been run before.

Set your Sound/Video and LAN options. Then Apply and Close. Re-run the launcher as a regular user and select a mod and options.
