I'd imagine the number would be quite high, but I'm also interested at how good we consider ourselves :).
So, do you FRED and how good are you?
Personally, I rate myself as High-Intermediate. I understand it, can generally get it to do what I want, and only occasionally have problems. I'm not an expert as I have problems with mission balancing and making it challenging, but not annoyingly so or repetitive.
-
I wonder who will vote expert :)
-
I did :)
-
Me to :)
-
Intermediate here!! :D:D:D
-
Me intermediate!
-
Intermediate too :p
-
Somewhere in between intermediate and high-intermediate.
I hate goals.
-
Expert dude here.:D As a trade-off though, I can't model at all.:p
-
I would consider myself an expert, and I can do models. Two for the price of one!:D;):p

You expert, then i would be ultimate expert.
I woted for intermediate, becouse i don't know what does it mean and it's in middle. =) and i don't know how good are other at that.
-
Ok let's say the guys of V are experts what make us that then:p
-
okay, check this (http://wind.prohosting.com/cp5670/PItest.zip) and then tell me whether I'm an expert or not...:D:D:D
-

I can't FRED at all, but I'm trying to learn...

And what, pray tell, does that mean?! :D:p;)
j/k

Ok, unkow i've played your campaign... No escorts and all mission sucks exept last one. And second one is impossible. And you didn't made repeat triggers in campaign editor(so i'm also more expirienced in camp editor too ;) )
-
High-Intermediate.. back when I did.
-
*sees flicker of a flame*
Ahhh! Nooo! Get thee back to the smoky pits of the VBB whence ye came!
*furiously smothers Larva's post*

I`d say I`m high-intermediate. Since I haven`t got any feedback on my missions (even if they are technically well crafted) I can`t say I`m an expert.
The secret of fred isn`t just making beautifully scripted missions but mainly in making missions that are fun to play. Until I`ve had some serious playtesting done I can`t call myself an expert.
-
i'd say i'm intermediate,
ok but not great
-
Well, I made a couple decent missions.
-
I'm good, but I don't use variables. The only differences between the different times you play my missions is how good you and the AI do.
-
Low-intermediate. I can pretty much make a mission but I'd need to spend a lot more time fooling around with it to do anything fancy...
-
intermediate, i can do just about anything i want with missions, but on occasion the missions wont work. Also, there are those like Cetanu who are much better than i.
-
The time it typically takes for me to make a good mission is around two weeks; I spend the first two days actually putting together the mission file (all parts of it) and the other 12 on testing and playbalancing.:D
-
2 hour fredding, (usually 2 hours testing/balancing) then it goes to my staff for testing and stuff.
-
wow, you can finish one in two hours? It usually takes me around eight hours (split into two days) to finish the mission file, along with 30-40 more hours for balancing the mission.:p
-
Expert
Although i havent dabbled in Fred2 for awhile. Im sure i could jump right back in and get back where i left off.
-
Maybe we should have a rating system for FREDders... ;)
I don't FRED. :D
-
yeah, check out my missions on that link if you don't agree that I am an expert...:D:D (hey I have to be good at something:D)

I think I'm high-intermediate or expert. I'll let you deside cause soon you will see my minicampaign, a year later my BIG campaign and some TAP missions will be my work to I guess! :D

Well, what do you want from the Steak? Mediocre missions or an updated Array? :D
-
Array! Array!
-
[tiny voice] "crappy mediocre Setekh missions" [/tiny voice]
*hides*
:p
-
I guess Setekh missions will have lots of Setekhs in them...:D

But what if we have neither?
The big problem is that Steak can't use any software that isn't his to design anything...ever wonder why Spirit only runs on "Linux"?
It's because Steak wrote the OS :D

That's true...there will never be a "February 2002" section of the Array, dunno why  Probably because Setekh wrote his own OS and now he's having problems with it. :D

I've FREDded a few good missions.. I'm intermediate I think. Thing is... I dont have anything to FRED for... no campaigns or anything to work on. Ah, perfect oppurtunity here... if anyone is lookin for a somewhat decent FREDder, I'm available.

See Siggy :)
We currently have a team of 3, and need some more good FREDders. A skinner would be nice too! ;7
-
hey, i need a good fredder too, i dunno if you've heard of Into the Night but i need some one to go over the missions and improve them, make them more involving. Interested? (email is [email protected]).
-
I'm from low-intermediate to intermediate... I've only done a couple of missions, but tweaked a lot of them - specially for bonus objectives and scripted events. Well, I guess you'll see for yourselves when the Machina Terra Dem...
Ops.

Unfortunately not. It's seriously quite bad. I spend all the available time I have (which is, admittedly, very little) doing maintenance stuff; art galleries, and fixing up vB stuff, of late. Shrike's in Brazil and the other staffers are AWOL for some reason or another; so I'm stuck holding down the fort. Been doing it for a year and then some, no break. :)
-
I'm quite a good FRED'r, i am currently working on my Campaign, and i can usually come up with a solution.
