Title: $22 trillion to keep the lights on?
Post by: Kosh on September 05, 2008, 10:17:48 am
According to  this guy (http://www.redorbit.com/news/business/1541669/financing_the_world_energy_industry_requires_22_trillion/index.html) the world will need $22 trillion worth of investments over the next 25 years to meet demand.

Any thoughts? Personally I think with the dollar sliding in 25 years $22 trillion might be enough to get a loaf of bread. :p Exaggerating of course.

The US Dollar will not exist in 25 years, but not because of this Amero you speak of. Rather, escalation of wars in the near future will lead to uncontrolled inflation and before it gets to the point where $22 trillion is worth a load of bread it'll be one of the final elements that push american society into anarchic civil violence, at which point mexican nationalists will invade.

but when all this starts to happen i'm pretty sure it'll become apparent shortly before the looting, at which point i plan on getting as many credit cards as i can and maxing them out on lots of cool things to fill my bunker with :P i mean, who's gonna call me and ask for the money back, right?

Well, to start with there will be the warlord who 'acquired' the credit cards companies assets. Then there will be the local commune who are againts you having a bunker of your own. Then there will be the local doomsday cult who want you to give everything to their leader and then commit suicide. then there will be the remains of the old government who want you to pay tax on the credit cards. then there will be ...

As for invasion by Mexican nationalists, they are not really a threat. After all, the Canadians will want to attack Washington again, the British will want paying for a certain load of tea, the Native Americans will want some buffalo herds, the French will want something or other (probably involving payment for their help in the war of independance), the Russians will want Alaska back at a similar price to that which they sold it for in the first place, and the Texans will want independance.

interesting quote even though i say so myself a contradiction .

one way or the other, that dollar sign will disappear, american companies are detaching themselves from the american dollar because at this stage the euro is a lot strong, the foreign investment in the usa is stopping gradually especially the oil markets and moving to the euro. that aside, it seems the usa and united kingdom seem to be hit hard by inflation recently so i doubt the pound will be around all that long anyhow.

recent wars and the twin tower collapse hit the economy hard obviously this must of been a side effect that is now being felt albeit a bit delayed. they say 2052 is the year natural oil will have run its course, and i think it would be at least maybe another 30 40 years after that will the oil disappear because of the recently new found deposits in Venezuela, Russia and Antarctica. however the companies control this substance, i expect them to back stab everyone and hike the prices to an insane amount of money when they know that they are going to loose one investment that has been a very rich vein of money, which is the reason for hybrid cars i suspect so they can make further prototypes to use alternate ventures into powering vehicles, formula 1 racing is trying out bio fuel and the KERS system which is supposed to be an alternate to oil and petrol, KERS stands for Kinetic Energy Recovery System while fuel companies work on bio fuels, so fields of natural oil plants might have to be produced in more or less every field in every country that can support them or other plants which can run bio fuel.

and the media has been known to lie quiet a fair bit, the Chinese and Russian news services are bias to their governments, and will distort the truth, or throw lies out into the public if the kremlin advises it or the communists want it. american news services have been known and prone to distorting a many truths as possible especially if it comes to a threat from another country or a hated figure within the states. british news has been known to have cock-ups on their on air news service, like the bbc and a news paper that is known to lie and has been in court a few times, the news of the world.

what i think of the moon landing is irreverent, if it never happened you will not be able to find footprints on that dust ball and a few other items along with the landing struts of the module and if it did, it would all be their.
