Okay, I've found the chunk from the Bridge of Eldin, but earlier when the shadow things had shown up I just ran past them, so now there's no warp for me to get the chunk through. Help please.
-
I think if you get near the bridge, the midna button will come up. press it.
I might be wrong though.
-
I'd recommend turning the system off, removing the game, and never putting it back in.

I sadly haven't played the game myself (still holding out for the Wii version), but GameFAQs (http://www.gamefaqs.com/) probably has the answer you're looking for. From everything I've heard, their forums are to be avoided like the plague, but they have a lot of very dedicated members who come up with a lot of great walkthroughs.
-
Umm, walk back there from the north and kill the Shadow Beings.
And GameFAQs has some good communities if you know where to look. Just avoid the game specific forums and you'll be somewhat better off.
-
What's wrong with the game-specific forums? Lots of unruly flaming?
-
if its to be avoided like a plague, it probably does mean: flaming, trolling, spamming, hate preaching, baised admins, unjust banning and god knows what other horrors lurk on their site .
i suggest ign, they have good resources for games and upcoming tv shows and such.
-
It's the rather restrictive ToS that is a turn-off for many. Things are usually moderated well enough, but with a site as big as it is, there's plenty of room for error. Also, since a big portion of the site are people in their teen years, you can imagine the average maturity level.
-
Like I said, I've been warned away from their forums, but I love the hell out of the walkthrough-writing community. It beats the pants off paying $20 for a book I'll only use twice, though I guess in-store reading is an option as well.

In Singapore, all guide books are wrapped up in plastic.

I frequent GameFAQs's forums, and they're... well, they have some idiots, but there are plenty of helpful people as well. Mostly, the trolls and flaming get lambasted pretty quick by everyone else on the board. Moderators, on the other hand, seem to be nonexistant, except for deleting comments perceived to be "inappropriate". It's only on the boards for really popular games (ie, Brawl) that trolls run rampant. Most others are populated by people who actually play the game.
Besides, they have a new "Answers" system on GameFAQs: post a question, forum-goers post answers. Except that you don't actually have to go into the forums to ask it.
-
You know what's sad... I'm just as bad at fishing in the game as I am in real life...
-
I managed to beat it
Sure Minda was hot, but the ending left me saying "bububububu... NO! but WHY?" (yes I'm one of those people who forms a bond with the characters as long as it's written good enough) There is a sliver of hope though because that fused shadow is still laying in that field...
-
Sure Minda was hot...
Wait wait wait... imp Midna or tall Midna? Because imp Midna was alright, had the hips and all, but tall Midna just freaked me out. :blah:
-
I'd hardly call either form "hot," but tall Midna was pretty weird. I suppose it's because I'm so used to her "imp" form.
-

The walkthroughs on Gamefaqs are outstanding. I routinely check them out for a variety of games, especially those that I'm doing a second playthrough with. Their forums, on the other hand, have a uniformly bad reputation just about everywhere else I've seen, although I have not been there myself. The karma system there for new users is alone enough to turn me away.
-
The secret to GameFAQs is avoiding the game boards. Especially the boards for popular games like SSBB, Halo, or whatever. There are various social boards not tied to a particular game which have much better communities.
And the Karma system is pretty weird and more of a relic from the site's history than anything, but it becomes irrelevant after 75 points or so.

Tall Minda, imp Midna... not so much, better when in shadow form. But did the ending depress anyone other then me?
-
I felt similar about the ending.
-
So what do you think? Will the
fused shadow that is still in the feild where Ganon dropped it
will be the focus of or play a part in the next game? (come on people, I'm trying to start a discussion)
-
I don't even remember that bit, as I only played the final battle once.
I wouldn't mind seeing a "spin-off" game akin to Majora's Mask or Phantom Hourglass in the TP universe, and that does seem like it could be a plot point for the next game if they so choose.
-
I just can't wait for the next game. tp was really good but it was still a disappointment.
I was hoping for something with, well, more Oot...
and the bosses were way too easy.
-
They were easy, but you have to admit they were entertaining regardless. I really liked the battle with Stallord and the dragon thing in the sky city.
Also, the fight with Zant was unexpectedly hilarious, which ended up being a good thing.
-
Well, TP was too easy, but what annoyed me most that you cant replay many many really fun parts on a completed save game, you need to start all over again
-
I still prefer Wind Waker to Twilight Princess, even though Midna was the best supporting character yet (much better than KoRL, and I'm not even going to discuss the fairies).
-
I haven't yet played Twilight Princess, but I haven't really minded the easy boss battles in other recent titles. Nothing irks me more than having to play a particularly difficult segment of a game over and over again without making any headway. The battles in something like Wind Waker had some cool mechanics going on and required at least a modicum of competence; I'd much rather have something like that than a juggernaut of a boss who manages to off me some twenty times. Going back and playing the original Zelda after playing most of the later titles first, I was rather frustrated when the boss of the first dungeon proved to be a massive challenge. :p
-

Well even though I haven't really played any other Zelda titles, Minda was a very well developed character.
and the bosses were way too easy.
I still think the first boss (the " giant man-eating plant
) was the biggest "Oh Crap" moment. And I liked how the bosses were like "Hey I beat it, that was easy... *rumble* Oh Crap all I did was tick it off!"
And has anyone else wondered how Princess Zelda is still alive and youthfull after the several-hundred (alteast) years between the games.

Most of the games aren't connected with each other.

Most of the games aren't connected with each other.
Actually, quite a few of them are. Most of the Zeldas are descendants of each other, with the notable exceptions of the Zeldas from Zelda II (that Zelda was the one from the original game, but put into a magical sleep), the one from the Oracle series (spanned both games), and the one from Phantom Hourglass (Obviously).
Of course, the fact that there's no public official timeline to the games screws things up royally.

I probably should have noted that I don't recognize any of the GBA/DS titles as actual Zelda games.

That's a bit silly. Link's Awakening was the game that got me into the series, and I've always loved the LttP-style graphics and gameplay present in the portable games.
Phantom Hourglass on the other hand... ugh.
-
I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass quite a bit myself, particularly one or two of the weapon mechanics. That boomerang was just fun.
As far as the portable games as a whole go, I started out my Zelda experience with Oracle of Ages/Seasons on the GBC, and they remain among my favorites. The GBC was all but dead when those two were released; it was great that Nintendo allowed Capcom to create something that allowed it to go out with a bang and not a whimper.
-
Why don't you recognize the Game Boy games? They're just as good as any of the console ones, and Link's Awakening is definitely one of the best in the series.

I don't recognize Zelda GBA/DS games. I never said anything about Zelda games for the GB.

The biggest problems I had with PH were the size and the plot. The game was frankly too small. You finished the main quest (which was far too easy), and there was really nothing else to do. None of the plethora of sidequests and hidden secrets common to most Zelda games. As for the plot, it just seemed like a poor rehash of Link's Awakening (I mean really, Link washes up on an island, the giant white whale, the whole ending (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AllJustADream)).

Oh, right. My mistake.
-
There's no over-all time line as Nintendo didn't persue one and only recently (~past couple of years) have tried to rationalise it all. I think inreality each game was basically an update of the previous as technology got better. Certainly, Link to the Past was essentially replayed in Ocarina of Time .
IIRC WindWaker, with it's great flood theme, was to be treated as a tangent and persued to it's own conclusion.
Shame. The game wasn't awesome but I thought the mechanic interesting. Plus, the brief visit to Hyrule looked great with cell-shading IMHO.
oh and, as for bosses, Armor Knights FTW! Or Fake-Gannon in OofT.
-
Anyone know how I get the canoe shop to open?
-
Sure Minda was hot...
Looking at Google images, I dare to say you're a pervert.
EDIT: Wait, do you mean (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a300/Anklelock/Midna.png)this midna or (http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/2227/midna1rb1.gif) that thing?
-
He means the Midna who actually looks like an adult woman.
-
Oh well then, I have to say he's got a good taste :drevil:
-
He means the Midna who actually looks like an adult woman.
Yes, but I thought we had moved past that now...
-
*silence* I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just didn't want this turning into a "Who's Hotter?" thread.
-
I've been wanting to replay The Wind Waker for a while. After that I'll go through TP again, I think.
-
I restarted TP, can't catch a stupid fish though.
-
I keep meaning to get this for GC but evertime I look (every few months) it's still selling for £40!
-
The fish thing is bothersome, it's true. The tricky part is knowing how to hook them once you've lured one in. The line will be pulled down for half a second or so once a fish draws near. You have to yank up on the wiimote when that happens.
-
:bump:
Yes I'm sure I want to reply.
Did anyone notice that although the Zeldaverse is largely pretechnalogical, thay have pictures on the walls? And they're not paintings, beacause the old ones are black and white but more recent ones are in color.
-
They have cameras in Zelda. Or at least in Wind Waker you could obtain one for taking "Pictographs".
-

.....
/me sighs.
Did anyone notice that, despite the appearance of the force of gravity, your character can survive twenty story falls?
-
well, Link has the Triforce (i don't know why, they made a huge deal about him having that in the earlier games, now it's just a given. It takes away a lot of the story) So he has... Dah Uber Magik!
-
Did anyone notice that, despite the appearance of the force of gravity, your character can survive twenty story falls?
Yes, that bothered me too. By the way, has anybody beatean the ... I think it's called the cave of ordeals. Those two giant knights are brutal.
-
You fight three or four at once later.
-
You fight three or four at once later.
:snipe:
Please tell me there's a secret to beating them.
-
Try to take them one at a time.
Otherwise it gets tricky fast.
But if you're looking for a hidden weakness, there isn't one. Just good old-fashioned swordplay.
-
Dang... If only they weren't unphased by the sheild attack. Being able to use the helm splitter would make it so much easier.
-
You can use the Helm Splitter. You just have to catch them off-guard with the shield attack. It's all in the timing.
-
Hm... As long as I can actually do the sheild attack instead of a spin.
-
/me found the game to be a little on the easy side.
-
Ditto. But it was fun, and that's the important part, right?
-
I liked it well enough, but I liked Ocarina better and Wind Waker the best.
