In short, with no warning my screen has taken on "pink" overtones overnight.
It's not a CRT i'm pretty sure it's a generic unbranded TFT 19inch. There's still blue visible, but the whole display from boot to shutdown looks like its being floodlit by a brothel :nervous:
Anyone suffered from this before? (i've googled it and i will probably replace it later on when i have more cash as recent fund aquisitions have been invested in food and rent)
I've tried another screen yesterday and it's definitely the Display, not the Computer.
HALP.
-
You are certain that (none of) the cable(s) is (/are) loose or in bad shape?
-
100% as well as trying a different TFT on my comp, i used my TFT on my brothers and the issue was still present.
I also without screwing the lead into the back of my tft i "jiggled it" with power on and apart from showing a VERY prominent shade of blue it was mainly pink when full seated.
-
Same thing with both the DVI and the VGA connectors (in case it has both)?
-
Eh you mean the sockets in the screen? Ummm i dunno... I'm definitely dextrous enough in my left hand (my right s lost some mobility iover the years, broken bones etc) any links to sites explaining how to open / what to check? I don't wanna throw my screen out and buy a new one if it's salvagable.
-
poke the screen and tell us which colors does it show?
also... ummm... hm. well, a new unbranded 19" here is already below 100 pounds... sooo... :p
neways, try to connect it with another cable. the cable or its connector on the monitor might be wonky
-
I'm not gonna poke my screen :p ok just once... on a dark background (Hard-light) it shows an oily green colour with a thin outline (a pixel or two wide) of rust/blood red.
And i've already expressed that i've tried different screens on my PC and used my scrteen on a different PC.
-
You broke it... :(
Meh. Screens are for sissies. Real men can sense what's going on with the computer.
-
and i'm telling you, try a different cable. maybe just the connector on the screen itself went haywire.
take it to a pc repair shop and ask em if its worth repairing.

My screens unplugged.right now.

Any switch boxes or splitters between the computer and monitor? How long's the cable? If it's a long cable try a shorter one. I've got a couple of older machines on long cable runs through a switch box that over time decided they don't like that but work fine on a short cable.
-
Short enough, about three feet, for the record all this kit is less than four months old.
No switch boxes.
No joy,......
No hope.
epic fail :warp:
-
Warranty?
-
4 months old, i dunno if it's covered by manufacturer as it's a generic unbranded. The retailer i purchased it from will give me the 30 day speech...
I think my eyes are actually changing to compensate anyway, either that or i'm going blind
-
there's something for you in the tap internal :p

Thanks, i shall check....
*expect an edit of disgust soon if it turns out to be Uber-Spam..

I guess i can be getting on with >>SECRET TAP RELATED STUFF<< at some point no w:nod:

Meh, just buy an ACD. That'll hold for years.
