Title: Troubleshooting: First Contact
Post by: Galemp on September 12, 2008, 11:50:57 pm
Hey all. I just installed BP, and may I say... stunning, absolutely stunning. The early mission, where you return to Earth
Spoiler:
and find it a cinder
? My heart leapt into my throat. Beautiful use of
Spoiler:
my Uglies
, too. Much more evocative than I believed possible.

Anyway, I would love to finish the campaign, but I'm stuck on the mission First Contact.
Spoiler:
This is the one after the dream with the Lucifer.
I jump in, there's some chatter about the unknown fighters and they turn hostile, I get the message JUMP DRIVES RECHARGED... and then, nothing else happens. I evade them and jump, no debrief. I kill them, no debrief. They kill me, no debrief (obviously.) Something's supposed to be happening, but isn't. What am I missing?

Are you approaching them? I think they only turn hostile if you get too close to them.

Aye. 'tis a stealth mission. Keep yer distance. Then, when prompted, try to jump out.

Ah.

You know what I didn't do?

Target them.

The mission goes nowhere unless you target them. :p
