...Alright, at this point you must be thinking :wtf:
That makes perfect sense, but realize what i went through last night... I was underneath my cluttered desk holding a flash light in my mouth fumbling around with a screwdriver with bits falling all over the place... Yeah, this thing would -definately- have its uses, but what do you think?
Edit: Prototype!

But good luck with your idea anyway.

Eh, yeah, but they look stupid :sigh:

But isn't the whole point of a flashlight is that you can shine the light directly at something? With this, the screwdriver is going to cast a shadow, so you'll only get the light coming out the sides of the handle, and wouldn't your hand be covering part of that anyways?

I have a couple of light up screwdrivers. Basically the same thing but the battery goes in the handle and you can store extra bits in there too.

Call again when you've got an ion cannon.

What would be cool is if the actual screwdriver part (which is usually metal) illuminated, like if it had fiber optics running through it. But it would still have to function as a screwdriver, so I don't know how possible that would be.

Depends, It doesn't work -that- bad, and the point is to eliminate the trouble of holding the flashlight. besides, it'd be damn bright if it was LEDs
