Title: Modeldump
Post by: Nx on September 26, 2008, 09:15:25 am
Note 1: these are all .max files, some require 3dsmax2008. You can download a trial version to open and convert them.
Note 2: some of the files are old, and I didn't want to resave them as 3dsmax2008 files, so they contain a lot of hidden stuff that's mostly useless (e.g. a vanilla Hecate model for size comparison)

Download all:
Filefront (http://www.filefront.com/15818365/Modeldump.zip/)
Freespacemods (http://freespacemods.net/download.php?view.617)
Megaupload (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A65Y08AP)

Most of the other links are down.

They all look very similar. I'd never be able to tell them apart.

Nonetheless, they all have outstanding detailing and greebles. Have you considered working on any models for the FS Upgrade Project?

Hmmmn, that second to last one could make a decent Renegade Legion-style ship. I'll grab these all when I get home perhaps.

Great style of the models! :) A bit low poly, but they keep Stratcomm's style IMO. Especially I like the Solaris.

Amazing stuff dude. I like your style. Some of those models are pretty detailed too. Why the hell did you ever stop? :p

ISTR that you showed off a completed ship in the Design a Destroyer thread a long time ago.  Is that model still around?

I like the "GTD Avatar" in particular (but that might just be because of the partial texturing that's already done).

Yeah avatar's cool.
Keep up cool Deimos-like texture style

If anyone converts these to 3ds or something, could you post them here?  I had trouble getting the MAX demo to install...

I really wanna play with some of these ;7

I like that unnamed Terran Destroyer.

Why don't you lump it all up into a single zip file?

Awesome Job!  It's very generous you posted your work like that for the community. We eagerly await your NEXT or future ones...   ;7

In case any of my contacts outside the community see and desire your works, are you good for open usage as long as full credit is given?

Your style is quite enjoyable IMHO...
I hope the modeling bug bites you again soon.

oh yeah and the nile is cool too
Title: Re: Modeldump

I'm not stopping modeling. The reason I posted these is that I'm finished with 3dsmax, and these were just sitting around in a backup directory. My texturing skills are also not up to the task of finishing the Prometheus or the Titan, for example.

Wow. Can someone put them into a single archive though?

I put them in separate files because I wanted you to be able to download the ones you like without the rest. I'll put up a single zip in a moment (will edit first post). Done

In case any of my contacts outside the community see and desire your works, are you good for open usage as long as full credit is given?

Yes.

Strange, ShadowGorrath...those to DL sites hate me and Snail while Filefront, although not exceptional, is better than the other two.

RapidShare is one of the worst file sharing sites out there. On it's own it's bad, but it's seriously horrible because people started using it.

Why is it bad? It works fine for me. And honestly, the best for my internet.

Well, I have a natural dislike for its interface, and how slow it is. I'm sticking with GetDropBox from now on...

I didn't notice the little blurb in post #1 about needing max2008...

Tried to convert them to .3ds and use 3de to get .cobs.

I just need a 3ds of Prometheus and gvca Nile...
