If we're talking my upstairs balcony, I see the city spread out all over the place beneath me (my house is in the foothills). Looks really impressive at night.
I'm afraid I don't have a pic available, since I'm in college and my house is some distance away. Maybe by the weekend.
-
Nuke can (or could, still moving or moved already?) see Russia, that means he has foreign policy experience.
-
At the very moment not so much. It's really dark outside at this hour. But generally, a rather typical at-the-edge-of-downtown view.
Concidering that it's midnight local time, roughly 4oC outside and that I'm already in my underpants and about to go to sleep, I'm not going to go outside to take pictures.
-
:nervous:
you said underpants
:eek2:
-
Well, I like to have something on in case the property maintenance decides to burst into my apartment without warning.
-
On duty: Officer's Mess
On shore leave: the house opposite mine

Close enough, anyway.
-
More houses.
-
Endless suburbia.
God I hate this place.
-
The post recreation center and gymnasium.
-
I love were i live. every city is over a thirty minutes drive...
coincidently, sticking me in a city is on my list of 'things i don't want to experience again'... i can sleep in my 2X4 closet and be fine, but cities make me clausthrophobic.
-
Cities are the only place to be.
That's where fun things happen.
-
sorry, just can't stand them. I've grow up in a reasonably quiet neighborhood, and it's mostly rural...
-
@Mars: Indeed. I could not live outside a city. I love the city. Always someplace to go, something to do, and if one store doesn't have what you're looking for, there are around a dozen within ten minutes driving time that do... just such a wide variety.
The country just looks flat. And green (well, brown... this is the southwest). And identical to everything else within 100 miles.
Just comes down to personal preferences I guess.
-
almost no fields for me. mostly woods and hills.
-
Well, like I said, this is the southwest. We don't have many of those around here (we do have mesas, though, which are quite pretty).
-
I loved living in the country.
Back in Admiralty training (university if you will), my residential campus was in the middle of a big field in the middle of nowhere. And I ****ing loved it....Apart from the badgers...they are sooooo not cute and cuddly in the real world believe me!
-
:blah:
The view from my house door sucks.

You might have to turn your heads tho.
-
I don't have a picture but its just trees (mostly evergreens), another couple of houses, and road. Possibly a parked car or van :)

Note: That's a pond.
Suffice it to say, it's been rather hot lately.

I can't figure out for the life of me why people would rather live in an overpopulated cesspit of a city than a suburban town. What's the use of things happening in a major city when YOU CAN'T GET THERE BECAUSE RUSH HOUR IS STILL PRESENT AT 2:00 AM?!
/me desperately needs to get out of Sacramento.
Oh, and in front of my door lies another door about 20 feet away. Yeah.
-
Sacramento is not a city, it is a cesspit.

Agreed. I don't even like visiting cities, much less trying to live in one. I value being able to open my window and hear nothing but leaves blowing and birds doing their thing. Plus, the smell of diesel exhaust makes me completely nauseous.

What do i see?
The worlds biggest RPG, with no bounds and ultimate real world physics. Any reasonable skill you can think of can be mastered given enough time and dedication.
From my door i see a world of possibility.
*cough checkmynewstatus cough*

Yeah, I got the whole package. A real sweet deal.
Too bad the weather wasn't really great when I took those pics. But there are two with much better weather conditions:

Lets see... I'd see the tree line by the dirt road, the barn farther on, the willows and brush that completely obscure the creek (turning a nice shade of orange now). the hill with the road going up. Turn head to the left and see the meadow, turn head to the right and see the foreman's house, look behind to see the other hill with the road continuing to two other houses.

At the moment there is a van outside my house with the unforgettable legend 'Ta-Kee Trading'. Whilst the organisation is Chinese, the name is....unfortunate.
