The linux 20080717 build. Is that the 3.6.10 linux build?

EDIT:ignore this. I found out it is the linux 3.6.10 build

Any build this year is pretty much a '3.6.10' build.  It's been in development this whole time.  If you want the latest linux builds, check out the Nightly Builds subforum.  Testing newer builds means a better chance of running across unreported bugs.

What about normal map support builds? Where are those? And lastly, which folder the does shader.vp go into?

Normal maps have been in the main code base since July 11 or so.  Any builds in the Nightly Builds foroum will have them.  Shader.vp either goes in your mediavps folder or the root FS2 folder with the other FS2 .vps.  I opt for the root level FS2 folder for that one.
