Title: Disabling panning when viewing left/right/up
Post by: Droid803 on October 01, 2008, 07:35:30 pm
Well, I was pointed in this general direction by this post (here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,56119.msg1143304.html#msg1143304)), but I would like to ask if there is a way to separately disable the camera panning when you look left/look right/look up. I know it's more realistic, but it makes me quite nauseous (not a good thing).

This is probably pushing things but, if its integrated with the Track-IR code, may I please request that a build without it be released? (though I seriously doubt anyone will do that for me :( ) I'll never use Track-IR anyway, and I would still like to be able to check my six, etc. without wanting to puke afterward.  :blah:

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I personally feel that unless you're using the TrackIR, the panning would only be useful if it were a slow pan, and even then I think it should be a command line option to either snap or pan.

What about instead of a command line option a key bind for each?  That way by default you could have something like hat switch for pan and shift-hat for snap.  This would allow you to use both in game.  You want it the other way around you just change the bindings.

Couldn't be done now then without scripting or something.  Would have to wait for the new pilot file code, a command line option could be implemented sooner.  Maybe it could even accept the pan speed.
