I`ll agree with that. Add in the fact that they all seem to have personalities and speak some of the best lines in the game and that has to be my favourite squad :)

BTW, did anyone ever manage to destroy all three comm nodes as well as that rakshasa cruiser within the 15 min limit?

My wingmen usually are in the red by then, ('cept for Alpha 2, who never drops below 89% when I play that mission).  So I don't bother with it.

Besides, I'm usually out of trebs by then.
The mara has a great payload, but really lacks when it comes to weapons it can be fitted with.

Hey, now that looks cool. You do that yourself? :):yes:

I managed to take down those three and the Rakshasa. To my memory, there were a few Rakshasas... two? Three? At least two. ;)

In fs1 was the Valkyrie and in FS2 is the Perseus

Actually I had several of those logos made for me by a friend of mine who does interesting 50's-70's "poster" style images.  Things you'd expect to see at boxing matches and what-not.

They were made back when I started working on my own campaigns, just never really made it anywhere due to lack of help.  So I dropped it, still have the unmodified pics (green backgrounds and such) for use in game, might turn it all into a long story if I find my scipt.  

But if not I'll just use them for personal renderings and whatnot.

Interceptors are okay, I guess... but they can't cause any substantial DAMAGE... oh well. ;)

Interceptors CAN do some massive dammage. In the mission where you are fighting the SD Eva in FS1, I defeated the Eva with the valkyrie armed with Prometheus, Avenger and Phoenix V. It took some time but this proves the awesome power of the interceptor. It is a HIGH PERFORMANCE fighter!!! :D ;)

Yeah like I tryed a several times and I saw that the wingmen got killed everytime so I sent them home after two minutes and started to trash Eva my self. I think it took me about 15-20 minutes.

I am more into heavy fighters and assault bombers; fast ships just don't seem to fit my style. ;)

Beckett, the leader of the the 64th, sound really weird when you first hear him: "This is Commander Beckett < loud sigh >..." :D

I guess the best squad leader would be Alpha 1 since he is practically an entire squad in terms of his effectiveness. :D

No No Interceptor rule!

Check out the Serapis and Perseus. Those ships can kick some serious fighter, bomber and cruiser butt. :D

Here are the reasons why is Perseus better than Erynies:

-Larger reactor capacity
-Higher speed
-Fires the Kaysers longer than the Erynies
-Carries the same ammount of Trebs and Tornadoes as the Erynies. ( I think)
-Higher agility

Oh, I like bombing too.

They're multiplayer co-op missions, two of the first I ever did, but still a heluva lotta fun.

My 4 favorite ships from most to least:

1. Erinyes- 8 kaysers right down your throat, gotta love it
2. Mara- thats just a lot of missile space for the speed and maneuverability
3. Myrmidon- for those bombing missions where you need as much speed as you do firepower
4. Pereus- because every once in a while i like to hunt those lumbering assault fighters.

By the way, since we are talking about Shivan fighters, I tested the SF Chimera (the stelth fighter) and it wasn't easy to destroy, but it has a weakness. ;)

Ok take a Poseidon freighter and I will take a Perseus. You have 60 seconds to clear the area! :D

Really, it is possible to fly a freighter just it takes about 40 seconds just to jump out. I even flew a cruiser and never mannaged to jump out! :D

Yeah so there I was, I fought against the Chimeras in my trusted Perseus and they almost kicked ... well you know what I was about to say but then I thought I should try the obsolete Rockeyes, and I just sent Chimeras back to the scrap pile where they came from. Yeh, it seems AI ships are allowed to transcend speed limits when you tell them to jump. Not the same with players. At least, in my inept experience. :D

Really, it is possible to fly a freighter just it takes about 40 seconds just to jump out. I even flew a cruiser and never mannaged to jump out! :D

Personally, I love the Perseus because you can do just about anything with it. And a question about the Pegasus: is it stealth when you fly it or just when you fly against it?

Yes Perseus is the ultimate fighter. It has less primary gun points than the Erynies however. In the Perseus you have the primary weapon firepower of a Hercules Mark 2, great agility, speed and maneuverabilty. The Perseus also has a more powerfull reactor than the Erynies. It is a best all arround fighter. :nod: And by the way, Perseus can be loaded with the same ammont of secondary weaponry as the Erynies. Once you learn to handle the Perseus, you won't need a better fighter. ;)

I don't think the 33rd or the 125th were ever named. They're probably unpronouncable by Terrans or something.

And, no, the Perseus does not have the same amount of missiles as the Erinyes. Perseus has (40,40). Erinyes has (40,50). Not much difference but it's enough of one to be mentioned.
