Post by: 0rph3u5 on October 06, 2008, 01:42:46 pm
anyone here who has a good suggestion for a TERRAN, RECONSTRUCTION-ERA Destroyer? (no beams, maybe flak-guns)

Terran destroyer with no beams..you mean no beam cannon turret model on it at all?
Doubt you'll find many..if any.

You could export Hamanos Orion upgrade or my Orion mk2 with PCs, delete the beam turrets (or put another model in there) and import again.

this is sadly (currently) beyond what I'm able to do

otherwise I would not have asked and just finish THIS one for example

EDIT: I give in the Tennyson is a bad example since it's at least 2 times bigger than the orion - but you did get my point, did you?

That one looks like it has beam turrets.

Tell you what - I'll re-furbish the Orion Mk2 for ya, it's only a 5 minute job for me anyway.
But you'll owe me one!

It also looks like it has an eye on the front.

The Tennyson isn't twice as large as an Orion  :wtf:
Its 2.4 km...

Though canonically, I would believe that the only destroyers Terrans used during the reconstruction era were Orions, and possibly prototype Hecates. Otherwise, why would there be none during the NTF Rebellion?

The could be interim designs quickly produced to fill a gap while the Hecates and refitted Orions were being built.

If they weren't particularly effective (i.e. no ability to mount beams), I can see them being retired as soon as the newer ships were rolling off the production lines.

Just because you don't see em doesn't mean they aren't there. They could just be a rare design.
no conflict with canon whatsoever.

It's a big universe, there's space for rare designs.

This is just the pof. For tables and maps download the OrionMK2 from FSmods.

I don't need anything ATM, since the campaign is almost done (altough a tester would be handy), but I'll keep you in mind ;)
