Check it out. If you're a student of higher education, you can get free access to a lot of Microsoft's current portfolio....

Visual Studio 2008 Pro
Server 2008 Standard
SQL Server 2008 Developer
Expressions Studio 2
XNA Game Studio 2.0

&c.

The downloads work, it's all legal stuff, real serial codes. I don't know about the XNA 2.0 stuff: I only grabbed Server 03 R2, 08, Visual Studio 05, and 08. I am considering replacing XP Home with Server 03 on my laptop and keeping Server 08 for later. Or, keep em all for later, since I now effectively have a copy of XP Pro 32-bit and Vista 32-bit or 64-bit. Comes in handy for third/fourth computers, saving $90-140+ on an OS. I'm setting it all up in Virtual Machine 07 to see how they all work, so I don't screw up. So far Server 03 R2 has like SP2 already installed, and all updates wnt smoothly in my opinion. It took about an hour to get Windows updated.

I'm trying Server 2008 on my laptop and it looks fairly decent. Far faster than I thought it would be. The only problem seems to be getting drivers compatible with Vista/Server 2008.
