Title: Possibly a really stupid question about Training Missions
Post by: Zacam on October 19, 2008, 09:59:28 am
In FS2 Campaign (mind, I am talking Retail AND MediaVP here), in the first Training mission, there is a condition called special-check 2000.

No idea what it does, but it is the only training mission where firing on the instructor disqualifies you (with a debrief).

What I would like to do is enable that state/function in the remaining Training missions.

I have tried many ways, but have not gotten it working, so now I ask here.

special-check has a very nice description. It basically allows you to trigger special effects like make a part of the HUD glow to mark it.

Check, there's a description. There are 10 actions available, if I remember well. :)

Special check is basically a big hack for all the stuff :v: wanted to do in those training missions which never made it into their own SEXPs.

Are you using it properly? Can you please take a screenshot of the SEXP you're using? :)

IIRC special-check will only work under certain conditions

1) The ship hit must be called (or start with) "instructor"
2) You must have done over 50 hitpoints worth of damage to it
