Title: Steve-O's ships / weapons packs help.
Post by: Commander Zane on October 24, 2008, 10:31:59 pm
This is one of the things I've been trying to get to work for the course of half a year and I still have no luck getting them into the game.
This is for the Federal Fighters / weapons packs. And of course with my terrible knowledge of file and folder placement there's no way I'll be able to use these unless I get very detailed help. :nervous:

Steve O fighterpack2 has a readme file that explains everything to get the models in game.

Not sure if the same models are in this pack though. I only have the second and third releases.. I do not have the first release.

(models)  pof files go in the models folder

(maps)  pcx, dds, tga  files go in the maps folder

(ship tables)  tbm files go in the tables folder

I`m probably not much help.  :nervous:

I've done that, and they don't appear in the Tech Rooms, they don't appear in FRED, they don't appear at all.

You have to select the mod in the launcher, and possibly use the -mod flag in the FRED shortcut. You doing that?

It might be a problem with the .tbms themselves...

have you placed the contents on the data/tables /// data/models   but inside the mediavps floder??

A couple of days before I was trying to make a dds file to display as a background but placing it on the Freespace/data didnt work when using the mediavps mod, so I placed it the data/effects inside the mediavps and that worked just fine, Im guessing this problem you have might have something to do with it.

That sounds like something I haven't tried yet.
.vps would make this so much easier.
