with the IMF bailout of Iceland, did they impose their usual conditions on them, or was it just free money?
-
So...... :wtf:
-
Well usually when the IMF bails out a country, they will impose a number of harsh conditions (such as total privitization of public services & utilities, make it exceptionally easy and cheap for foreign investors to take over domestic firms, etc), did they do that with Iceland, or just throw money at them?
-
Why should Iceland be treated differently?
-
They are a developed country? You never know, I'm just wondering if anyone has heard if the IMF will attach it's usual conditions.

It's a good point Kosh.

IMF = International Monetary Fund
-
IMF = International Monetary Fund
It should be renamed something like International Screwed up Fund, the ironic thing is that my country only started to get off the ground when it did exactly the contrary of what the IMF told us to do.
As to Iceland getting any of their conditions, I doubt it.
