Title: where are the saves?

I would like to keep my saves intact in case i reinstall fs2 open. where exactly is the career progression saved? many thanks (I am using linux but I suppose the file names would be the same)

in data/players/single

or 

data/players /multi

many thanks, it seems i may hava had 2 folders with the same files inside (i am on linux) and i backed up the wrong files since i cannot get my previous saves to play (unless i accidently pressed the replay this campaign button :P)

thanx all for the quick replies! (now i have to replay all of fs1 again, what a burden  :nod: - i think i was near the end)
