My Computer says that my CPU is literally freezing (1 celcius) and I'm certain it isn't. What could be causing this.
Quick googling brought up nothing
-
Be great if it was that cool. Have you checked for BIOS updates? Of course it could always be a bad sensor.
-
I just installed a new CPU.
The temperature fluctuates in a normal CPU range, it just seems to default at 0
-
Probably a bad sensor (not calibrated properly or something).
A BIOS update might solve it if its a known problem with that board for instance. But if its the on die sensor...probably not much you can except RMA the chip.
-
Well, if the sensor reaches 40C, turn off the computer because the CPU is about to catch fire.
-
I think the sensor is faulty, so the CPU might not be at 40 even if the sensor says so.
-
from what I've seen if it says 40, it's actually going to be 70, hot, but still (probably) functioning (that's only. The temperature at the BIOS screen is always 30 higher than what any software sensor reader puts it at.
I have Arctic MX-2 on it, and it's only a 45 watt CPU, so I don't see it going critical unless I OC it a lot.
