Title: Airplanes IN Milan (some photos inside)
Post by: Dysko on November 09, 2008, 01:57:11 am
The 4th november is the anniversary of the end of WW1 in Italy, so that day is dedicated to the various Italian defence forces.

This year, celebrations were on a much higher scale than other years. Here are some photos. Sorry for the low quality, but I'm not such a good photographer :nervous:

These photos are from a small air show INTO the Arena of Milan:
EH101 fastroping a squad from the San Marco battalion

A129 Mangusta doing aerobatics INTO the Arena

I won't post photos of the passes of 2 Typhoons, the M-346 and the replicas of the Dr.I and the Tiger Moth (which simulated a nice dogfight), since their quality is very low.

*orgasmic*

I should have taken a few MB-336 photos a few years ago, when I had the chance... :(

Long time no see, Dysko! Unless it's not the same one...  :nervous:

Nice pictures, although they don't 'turn me on' like Mobius. I don't get like that over aircraft!

Yes, it's me! Real LifeTM doesn't leave me so much time for gaming, but I can occasionally do something (like beta-testing the MB-339 for the Strike Fighter series :D).

BTW, I think Mobius is a bit exaggerating too :p

hey cool!

We had the red bull air race last weekend (Perth final!) - the helicopter pilot sounded like Swedish chef while he gave the course run down (doing aerobatics in a helicopter at the same time was impressive)

They had the FA-18 Hornet there, I don't think anyone realised how loud those things are (even the commentators were suggesting everyone in Perth cover their ears): http://flickr.com/photos/jporteous/2995125240/ (http://flickr.com/photos/jporteous/2995125240/)

Looking forward to the next airshow here!

Dysko! Good to see you. And wow, that fastroping shot is great.

From what I recall from past air shows, F-16s are substantially louder than F-18s, at least at full afterburner.  You feel the sound more than hear it. :D

(Damn, I miss air shows.  Friggin' BRAC KO'd our local joint reserve base. :()

I remember when I was on that hiking trip a while back, I was camping in a valley along the side of a mountain, and all of a sudden there was this REALLY loud echo of a jets afterburner in the valley. Apparently, F-16s were doing some training exercises then. So much for the New Mexican backcountry...

I think you have an extra 'one'.

Woops. Mistyped pretty badly. I didn't mean either of them. :p

It would've been pretty exciting if they were F-114s.

Whatever those would be.
