Somehow these assholes are still able to make a horde of money in bonuses (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/11/12/earlyshow/main4595179.shtml)
CBS News correspondent Priya David spoke with several compensation consultants who said that, even in this economy, firms are worried that, if they don't pay out the bonuses, they'll lose their top talent -- people they want to keep around for when pastures turn green again.
On The Early Show Wednesday, David reported that lawmakers and taxpayers alike are concerned about where the money for those bonuses will come from.
For Wall Street workers still employed, there could be a hefty bonus in their checks next month.
According to a report from financial news agency Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, for example, has set aside $6.8 billion for bonuses, and Morgan Stanley, $6.4 billion.
And the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank, isn't happy. "These are people who lost enormous amounts of money," Frank observes. "How do you give a bonus to someone for having failed so badly as many of these people did?"
Sad, real sad.

SeanieG123: I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most profitable to you.
SeanieG123: Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to [email protected] so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the funds.

Time for the government to give cans of vaseline in the next stimulus package.

Petroleum based lubrication is never a good idea in my experience.

Vividly remembers Lewis Black's rant on greedy people and then wonders how did we not see this coming?
-
Goldman Sachs is just playing sensible. Quality staff retention ensures high turnovers, rather than "offing" from the bottom up and effectively blowing their own shins off, they are in fact donning mark 2 power armour and stocking up on med-x.

Old news.

The system has failed when it actually benefits a team of executives to drive their firm into the ground. The blame also falls on them for being greedy pigs. They can be fat capitalists all they want but when they finally have to gamble with their own dice and lose it all they won't have any sympathy from me. I'd probably kick them and steal the money from their can.
Petroleum based lubrication is never a good idea in my experience.
I wholeheartedly disagree with you sir.

I believe the issue with petroleum is that it dissolves latex condoms.

Nail hit on head.

I believe if you need it and a condom at the same time, something is wrong.
-
Er, why? A lot of people use lubricant and condoms together. You just have to make sure it's not petroleum lubricant.
-
Most condoms are pre-lubed enough for "standard" sex anyway.
-
Yep. But using additional lubricant isn't a sign that anything's wrong.
-
I think this forum is the only place where talking about banks can segue into a discussion on condoms.
-
Maybe not since our financial institutions are raping us in the ass.

Regarding prudent use of two products at the same time. . . Not every couple have a "perfect fit" :pimp:
