I'm working on making a weapon, it's basically a blob turret on steroids designed to do huge damage to capships. The problem is, I can't think of a way to have it not fire on fighters.
Any thoughts?

Give it the "huge" flag (which it should have anyway). It'll allow it to do the last 10% to capships, and it won't target fighters.

Which I've already done, so basically I asked for tech support on a problem which didn't exist in the first place.

supercap too, maybe? bomb?

uh...not bomb. Bomb will make it able to be shot down.

My cap mounted anti-cap blob weapons have "Big Ship" "Huge" and "supercap" flags

i think the huge flag is only the last 10% of hull damage, its not target descriminatory
big ship limits the gun to onry be mounted on big ships
supercap lets the weapon do 75% of damage to supercap flagged ships (i cant see how thats any different than huge flag imho)

there may be some hidden descriptors in there cuz trashman is right, having all 3 of those flags, the gun will never target a fighter

huge is the one with the hidden descriptor of only targeting larger ships. I'm sure.
Terran Turrets have the 'big ship' flag and still fire on fighters.
supercap and huge were what :v: used to make some weapons more effective against certain ships, kinda like an Armor.tbl (I don't think retail FS2 had that).

Retail fs didn't have armor.tbl
And even with all the three flags your guns will still target hostile bombs even if they wouldn't target hostile fighters. You will a ai profiles flag to prevent that.

I found that putting 'huge' generally stopped my weapons from firing on fighters.

I'm OK with the weapons still firing on bombs, if I was a gunner and I saw a torpedo coming at me I'd sure as hell fire anything I could at it.
By the way, the new weapons work magnificently. I'll have to post a video of 'em.
