Title: Good free DVD burning software?
Post by: General Battuta on December 03, 2008, 07:58:22 pm
I need to make some DVDs with Galactica episodes and I'm too busy right now to do proper research.

Suggestions?

InfraRecorder - http://infrarecorder.org/
CDBurnerXP - http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

Both work on Windows XP and Vista.

CDBurnerXP is about the best choice. I've used it quite a bit--it's pretty stable, fast, &c.

ConvertXtoDVD3 ... IIRC it's free and very good.

I recommend you pass on InfraRecorder. I used that for a bit of time when I upgraded to Vista and found none of my burning software upgraded with Vista (damn companies wanting to make money off of new versions! *ahem*). It's very feature-lacking, it doesn't burn the names you provide for your discs (so you'll just always get something like "mydisc1"), doesn't recognize all file formats, and so on. Basically, it just sucks. Course, the version I had was 7 months older than today, so maybe they've fixed that.
