Title: Texturing/modelling in TS 5.1
Post by: Killfrenzy on March 09, 2002, 09:45:02 am
I finally got an up to date full version of trueSpace 5.1 and I was wondering if you guys know a few things:

1) How to import your own textures into ts5.1. I used to be able to do this with TS1, but the interface has changed considerably since then.

2) Why when I convert cob to pof why the textures don't follow. It doesn't even think there are any textures there in the first place....

Please help!!

Oh - and I love this!!

:headz:

Where did you get TS 5.1. I hope that not from a store, it costs a LOT of money! (I want it)

Belive me I know. I'm lucky too. I can go to a PC store next to my house at any time I want and take a game from here, play it some weeks and then take it back. of course I burn the game to CD. :D :D :D

What kind of store lets you return games and get refund(?) from them? In Finland, that would never happen, they won't take games back even if they didn't work!

The local Electronics Boutique here lets people do that.:D The game developers probably deserve the money, but I do that with any software over $100.:D (that the IMF library does not have and I cannot find elsewhere)

And you guys know what happens when warez is spoken of... (http://forums.relicnews.com/images/smilies/smash.gif)
Which program are you using for the conversion, and where are the textures stored on your hard drive? Are they in the Data/maps folder?

Warez. No.

As for the question, I'm actually not sure. TS5.1... that's new gear. ;)

The biggest headache I've got is getting TS to import custom textures - there seems to be no way to do it and the help files are as unhelpful as ever.......

BTW you can get the same level of functionality if you break both of your arms and use 3DSmax

It's not half as annoying either :D

Open the material browser and change the path at the top.... or just copy your textures into the 'materials' (or something) folder, or find the preferences and add another texture path to it.
