Title: Feature request: Animated picture in cutscene / subtitle
Post by: Colonol Dekker on December 10, 2008, 01:08:10 pm
At the moment we can show static images as shown in JAD 3 (to be continued etc) how much of a stretch would it be to allow animated images like DDS using EFF files?

Also would it be an issue to have a "play once / repeat" flag in the sexp?

Don't know anything about the first one but how does the play once/repeat thing differ any from the current repeat count code?

I have no  idea as i don't code :) just so i'm clear on the current situation, let's say i've a 120 frame dds file i want to play once then stop. That'd work?

I see. If you made animated subtitles that would definitely be a requirement.

Isn't the show-subtitle SEXP already compatible with ANI files?

:bump:

Just remembered my need for this. . .

I've not managed to try an .Ani file yet and wondered if the new build had added the capability. :)

Why not try it and then ask?

That said, I don't remember this being added, or in testing, so I guess it's not in there.
