I'm running Wanderer's latest build (r4937) btw. (I like to use the radar icons.)
Since installing the latest mediavps, I've been unable to run the FSPort main campaign. I can't even load the mission list in the tech room without crashing. It doesn't seem to be a model problem since I can see all the models in the tech room without problems.
I initially assumed it was a pilot file problem, so I deleted that one and made another one. The game crashes whenever I tried to switch to the main Freespace campaign using that file.
It seems to be an FSPort specific problem, as the Blackwater Operations Demo works fine. I haven't checked any other campaigns however.
Here's the debug log, though it might be cut off since I had to turn my laptop off to get out from the last crash.
EDIT: Aaaaaand... I put this in the wrong forum. Stupid me. Would a mod please move this?

Try upgrading your build. Wanderer hasn't posted a build since July AFAIK.

I've tried it with the nightly build r4989 as well. Still crashes.

OpenGL Vendor : Intel
OpenGL Renderer : Intel 945GM
OpenGL Version : 1.4.0 - Build 4.14.10.4497
You got my build running with that card ---- :shaking: ----- wow
Hmm... Not sure about these issues but i doubt your card does support glsl as new builds require... You could try selecting the 'Disable GLSL (Shader) support' from the launcher

Thanks, but that didn't work. It still crashes.
Oh, and the game runs fine with the standard FS2 campaign as well as with other campaigns which don't require FSPort. It seems to be a problem with it specifically. Maybe I should just wait for the new release?

Also, just for clarity, make sure that if you switch from Wanderer's build to a pure trunk build, you disable the radar icons. They have tables which would probably break the regular builds since they don't understand the new features.

when i run mvps on my eeepc (same card) it crawls along at 10fps so please post what your doing exactly id like to try(not the crash ) but just to see what you have in the flags

The game won't even start with the pure trunk build when I forget to move the icons, so yeah. :P

I don't know. I have everything besides glsl on. It works well enough, though it lags when beam cannons fire and if lots of ships are on-screen at the same time.
My 2 gigs of RAM help a bit, I think.

I wouldn't expect an eeepc to run the mediavps any faster than that, but anyway...
-make sure you don't try and use the MV_Advanced. So if by chance you're trying MV_Complete, that likely won't work...
-turn stuff off starting from normals, environmental mapping and shinemaps. Delete glowmaps if you want Shivans to be death black ships.
-reduce in-game graphics detail settings.
Honestly, though, I think you'd be better off simply playing the retail data with a FS2_Open build. Trying to run the mediaVP's (even without Advanced) with Asus eeepc is probably pretty much like trying to row a submarine - ridiculously slow and even if you manage to get it moving (slowly) you're not going to be able to dive without getting very wet. :p
-
Not to mention you can hardly see the difference on the stamp sized screen anyway :P

Okay, I just checked with other campaigns. Mods that use FSPort run fine. Silent Threat runs fine. I guess it must be something wrong with the campaign missions themselves. I think I'll just wait for the next FSPort release, it's not like I haven't finished the entire FS1 campaign already.

I hope you've noticed that your wait is over (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,58357.0.html).

Thanks for pointing it out.
Well, despite some hiccups involving badly-placed dashes, the main campaign seems to be working fine now. It probably was just mission corruption. Thanks for all the help!
