So, I want the Vigilant to have a nice glowing nameplate. Problem is, it keeps looking like this, no matter what I do. I don't have a shinemap of it anywhere, I've cleared the cache, to no avail. Any help would be most appreciated :D The nameplates are attached below, in case anyone wants to take a look.

Using 3.6.9? Cause there was an issue that was fixed recently IIRC.
-
The presence of normal maps would indicate that he is using a 3.6.10 build...
-
Yep. Nightly 4985 (or so), dl'ed the day the new mvps were released.
-
The Aeolus specifically still has an unresolved issue with the nameplates.
We are still looking in to it, but it is not a shaders issue. Or a normal map issue. You can disable both and have the same issue.
There _is_ a shaders issue related to nameplates though. And it has just gotten fixed and will be in the patch.
-
So, basically, the patch will make it work?
-
The patch will resolve the issues with the nameplates on almost all of the ships.
There is more going on with the Aeolus though than just shaders or normal maps. It is actually some sort of a model or rendering issue, but we haven't yet sorted out which yet. Or it is a possible combination of both.

It's bizzare. It only shows up with normal maps on, and the polygons of the nameplate just don't behave like regular polygons. They shine when they shouldn't, are black when they shouldn't be, and don't shine when they should. It's more than a simple inverted normal or anything like that too. :\
