a little render about Over the Top, little teaser at the same time
( I know, if it was that close, the ship would be destroyed, anyway, it looks cool, so what the hell :) )
-
Very nice. :nod::yes:
There are a few bits in it I'd change, but it's a really nice render. Well done. :)
-
nice render! I like it!
-
Should have been a Raziel. ;)
-
the black hole needs a little bit more of a curve going towards the origin, but otherwise good

I think you mean singularity... :)

Hey... aren't black holes black for a reason? So why does the event horizon have a texture? j/k ;)
-
you just reminded me to check OTT ;)

her, because otherwise what would be the poinnt of making a render of it? :p
;7

Use some glowy particles spiralling towards the hole and add a bit more spectral colour to imply distortion of space, time and light.

if only i knew how to do that :p

ah what the hell your better than me why keep secrets =) i was working on a black hole too never gotten aroudn to finishing it but use several spheres for the hole and give each sphere a different refractive index to make it appear its bending light arouns the hole - use some sort of particles witha gradient so they become brighter the closer they get to the hole before falling in cant say more than that since i have no idea what can and cant be done in max

That's not the event horizon. The even horizon is the radius at which light can no longer escape from the black hole. That texture is the Accretion Disk (http://astro.estec.esa.nl/SA-general/Projects/Integral/integ_blackhole_animation.html).
The accretion disc around a blackhole can be 'hot', and thus give of visible and invisible (but detectable) wavelengths of energy. The accretion disc exists from the very edge of the event horizon, out to a fixed distance determined by the size (mass) of the black hole in question.
A very good example of a hot accretion disc would be a collapsar in a co-orbit with another massive stellar object, like I yellow giant. The singularity pulls matter from the upper atmosphere of its partner. The stolen matter spirals into the event horizon, accellerating unto its own oblivion. Acceleration adds energy to the matter, which must be given up as light and heat (usually in the form of X-rays and gamma rays, but also as visible wavelengths).
Of course, I could just be paying too much attention to details in a kickass render (even if it should have been a Raziel). :D

nah, it's the ezechiel for a reason :D
-
If anyone remembers the second Bosch monologue cutscene in FS2, an accretion disk can be seen in space with the material from a larger star being sucked into a smaller black hole.
You can get a cool looking accretion disk by placing lines of particles around the graph of r=ae^-bt btw.;)
Nice render though.

I don't think it was a blackhole, it was most likely a small star, you could see a bright light in the core of the spiral, not a black "nothing" :)

That would either be a white dwarf or a neutron star.
Probably the former as a Neutron star would have jets blasting out of the magnetic poles.
Not a nice place to be though, after it collects enough mass the white dwarf starts fusing again and goes nova.

and if it was a neutron star, bosh would be toasted, and if it was a black hole, he would be stretched to infinite :D
better be next to a white dwarf :D

Man this is one hella render.
Good job as always Venom, i love the ship too, though I can't recall its name.
Help anyone?

Ah, a Swarzchild black hole. Fairly useless. I prefer Kerr-Newmann myself.

WTF are you talking about?
Smartass :p

The Eye of Terror doesnt look like that, its a big huge chaos nebula...oh this is OTT stuff.

lol, I know :p but I think they name could fit well :D
maybe Tzeench will pop out of it?

Why, because it has a top speed higher than that of a brick's? No offense to the Raziel.. :D

lol, no, coz... mmh, you'll knows soon enough :D
