Okay, question. My cousin gave me an X52 flight control system for my birthday (he says the joystick is the birthday present and the throttle's Christmas, but I digress :p). Is there a way to get Freespace 2 to recognize the throttle axis? Because right now it won't and I can't find a way in the options to enable it.

Not entirely sure that works for the X52 but it's a start at least. :)

Select absolute throttle axis in options, bind in top en push throttle forward..it should now show Axiz Z joystick or something.
Remember when you bind the throttle do not move the mouse or somthing otherwise it will not work, only throttle.
-
Yeah it's not bound by default. If that's not the problem I don't know what else would be.
-
my joystick does that too. i don't use throttle much tho so i just left it on the keyboard. anyway, shouldn't this be in the help and support forum
-
If it's the same thing I'm talking about it's completely unrelated to the joystick. When you create a new pilot, Freespace doesn't automatically assign the throttle controls to anything. You always have to map it yourself if you have a joystick with a throttle.
-
i think he's saying it won't map
-
Well no one had stated otherwise since JVLK posted so I was just trying to be thorough. If it's a deeper problem I don't have any ideas.
-
No, I got it to map. Thanks for the help; it's oh so much easier having the engine controls under my hand rather than having to hunt around opposite sides of the keyboard. :D
-
Yeah I can't stand having to do that.
