Title: Freespace 2 Parallels Desktop fullscreen/text problem.
Post by: Sololop on December 15, 2008, 06:17:48 pm
Hey there.

I have retail Freespace 2 installed on my Macbook Pro through parallels desktop, into Windows XP SP3. I don't know how many of you have Parallels, but I can hope someone might know an answer. Basically, the game will not run in full screen mode. If I make it full screen, it will keep the game video as a small portion of the giant black emptyness surrounding it. Also, all text in the game is just white bars where the text should be.

I have attached an image showing both problems.

Thanks for any answers anyone may have.

I'd recommend you tried FSO. There's no need to get the graphical updates if you really don't want to, but just get the latest nightly build for Macs (link in my signature) and possibly the Mac Launcher.

Alright, i'll give it a try. Thanks.

Edit: Installing FSO worked like a charm, awesome. I was planning on installing FSO eventually, but thought that the bugs would carry over. Thanks for your help.

Now are you running FSO for windows through parallels, or FSO natively for Mac?

Honestly right now you might be better off with parallels.  :sigh:

Yeah, I'm running it through Parallels. Someday, I may get it for Mac, but if it works, i'm not going to touch it. I have a tendency to break things.
