Title: Sync - fail to jump.
Post by: Lucika on December 16, 2008, 06:11:34 pm
Hi guys!

I am playing the mission (I forgot the name :( ) after the jump drives get inoperative and you jump out and only Alpha 2 arrives too with 12% hull.
The order is to jump out but even if I go near 2m to the middle, then it still aborts jump drive...
I enabled 64x time compression but still, nothin happens in the next 30 minutes.
Help me!!!

(by the way, did you notice that it is probably the only campaign that you can play with freezing and unable-to-display-big-ships-like FSO?)

Which build are you running and is your mission a red-alert mission?

Help me!!!!!!!  :( :( :( :( :(

Before we can do that, we need to know what build of FSOpen you are using (or if you are using retail FS2).

Hey, can I use retail FS2 for usermade campaigns? This is new... How?
I use 3_6_10  (if you are asking for this)
And the problem is in Endurance mission (after you jump to an unknown system and only Alpha 2 is there)

Depends. If a usermade campaign does not require any of the new FSO features, it can be played with retail FS2. But handling mods with retail is  considerably more painful than with FSO.

I use 3_6_10  (if you are asking for this)
Which one?

It might help if an admin corrects the spelling in the topic name, so this topic can be found in forum searches.
That way we get less people asking for help on the same problem.

Lucika can also do it himself (click the "Modify" button on the first post, correct the spelling in the "Subject:" field and save the changes).

Yes, but it worked for me. Perchance you should try playing it with 3.6.9.

Yup, it worked fine with it. Ty.

I ran into the same issue (using 3.6.10) and used the same workaround (using 3.6.9), definitely still a bug. :)

I too have had the same problem.  I'm replaying the campaign for the first time in a couple years.  I never had a problem with the original install, but that's long gone.  I'm trying to get this thing to work on the RC2 3.6.10 build and the 3.6.10 media VP's.  I was running just fine with no errors until the mission right after Sync activates the first time.  I show up and my wingmate shows up, but only half of her ship.  Really weird looking to have only half a herc.  I flew in behind her just to see what it would look like, and I saw details in the cockpit I'd never noticed before.  (Nice attention to detail btw, whoever did that model.)  And then, I fly to the node as instructed, but my subspace drive never enables.

ctrl-shift-s in the Tech Room is working for me, though.

On the upside, this seems to be the only mission that does not work in 3.6.10.

So you can use 3.6.9 in the FS launcher to get past it and then happily switch back to 3.6.10 right after.

Hi,
i have this bug to with 3.6.10.
But i installed FS Open just some days ago and so i can´t choose 3.6.9.
The installer can´t find it too.

So can i download it somewhere else?
Or is there maybe another solution?

Thanks in advance.

You can download 3.6.9 manually here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,44291.0.html

Remember to only use the FS2_Open executables, the Launcher included in that package is way too old.

^That. Read that last page if you want an alternate method of winning that mission without having to look for a patch or reverting back to 3.6.9.  ;)
