Title: Import background

For whatever reason, the import background function in FRED2 Open is not working for me.  I can select the mission from which I want to import the background, and then click 'OK', but it just doesn't work.  None of the image files paste over and nothing changes.  Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Yep, I have. Usually, I just copy-paste the background list via Notepad.

??  Sound easy enough, but what exactly are you opening with Notepad in order to copy and paste that?

The mission file. The background **** is at the end. Copy-paste everything between #Background bitmaps and #Asteroid Fields.

Are you using FRED 3.6.10? I used to have this issue too, the background importer would only work from folders way outside the FS2 directory structure (it would do exactly what you describe if I tried to import one from data/missions. But it seems to have been fixed in the latest releases.

There was a tool called Freespace Mission Background Utility that came with one of Kaz's POF Constructor Suites that allows you to do just that.

I'll upload it in the next day or two.
