Can anybody give a link or a tutorial on how to make a skybox? I've been wondering how for a while now and it would be nice if anybody can help. :)

Well, it depends what do you want to skybox exactly. For planet skyboxes there are already made models that need planet bitmap to be repleaced via pof editor (Like PCS or Modelview).
For more advanced skyboxes you might want to use cubes of other things.
I swear there was one tutorial floating somewhere. The best way is just to type in google "Skybox creation tutorial"

Something like these. And, once the skybox is made and converted to .pof, is anything else needed (tabling etc.?)

Bascially, there's not tabling you needed. You've got to select it via FRED 2 Background edit by clicking "Browse" button.
Incredibly hard? :D
The hardest and the most time consuming job is to make maps for that skybox.

Pardon the stupid question, but what do you mean by "maps"

He means the pictures (textures/maps) that cover the inside walls of the skybox cube

i wrote a tutorial on rendering skyboxes in truespace. i think it has vanished into the dank dark void of the internets. its not on any of my hard drives.

If you had a url for it... we could go pull up archive.org

Second time: type www.google.com
