Howdy all,
This has been one of my long term projects I started months ago and just now nearing completion. I still got some details to add here and there. But this is the basic look I was after and so far I'm pretty pleased with my progress.
I also updated the location and number of the guns and missiles and there is now 4 guns in 2 banks and 4 missile tubes in 2 banks. I also moved the docking paths to the center of the ship and did a new ship table to reflect it's role as a Fleet Defense and Assault Fighter.
When will you get this? As soon as I'm done with the texture and you might be lucky to see it this weekend if I got the time to complete it. Keep in mind, I do have other obligations and this only got where it's at as I wanted to take a break from my other stuff.
Having just flown this against 8 Mara fighters, I can say it can give them a whoopin as well as roll with the punches and still fight like a mad Badger. :D

As it's still a WIP, things can be changed and yes that windshield looks a bit too bright once I had enough sleep to have a fresh look at it. :eek2:
Another pair of gun points? I'll look into it as I want to move the missile points some as they are too close together when playing in a mission. I had a load out of Trebunchets and when fired, they were right next to each other. At first I thought that was OK as when they hit the target, it's a double whammy in the same area. I'm having second thoughts about that too now and there's plenty of room on the ship to move them around so not really a big issue.
I also feel this ship is too small scale wise in the game than what it should be and that I cannot fix.

Nice, though I can't help but feel that blue glows instead of green would look better.

I like the green glows. The poor Nephthys always looks lonely all by itself. :)

Then the glass should change. Its kinda clashy, but only a bit.

Those big green glows on the wings don't look Vasudan at all. Try another shape.
I really like the armor plating on the back, though. I think the contrast could be picked up, and a few more colors would be nice too.
Why not look to the Thoth for inspiration?

Humm, I guess I could try another shape and why not? ;) As for the Thoth, I'll take a peek and see what you mean Galemp.
I considered Blue glows too, but felt there was enough Blue Vasudan stuff flying around and besides, I wanted to stay close to the original Khepri. But having said that, it's easy to change.
Also, as you can see, She now packs a six shooter for Primaries. Secondaries are still 4 missile tubes and if you want to get an idea the loadout, this can carry 9 Trebunchets per bank for a total of 18 shots. Remember, this is a Fleet defense and Assault Fighter. ;7

Good job. Now UI'd liek to see more glowing glowmaps... Just look on Osiris and you'll know what do I mean. Those don't look good honestly...

Here is another update:
This time I created new glows which I hope is better as I do like this one. :)

I added some darker paneling on the bottom where the thrusters are which you cannot see in this view.
Will release this and the modified pof model soon.

The glows could be a bit more glowy (like bleeding some light onto the surrounding areas). Usually looks better if there's a slight spread like that.
But the shape of the glows are now very nice.

Khepri: Height 11.00, Width 18.00, Depth 26.00. (according to the model I have)
Artemis: Height 16.89, Width 20.03, Depth 34.16.
So no, the Khepri cannot have a similar loadout to the Artemis (well, technically it can have any loadout it wants :p).;)

Plus more room is taken up by the extra guns. With all those guns, the missile capacity shouldn't be very big at all.

With the shape comparison image the canopy is a mere peephole compared to the Artemis's canopy if it's really that small.

Also here is the final look as I'm done with messing around with this. I still am trying to figure out a problem I think this pof model is having. Seems when I try to use it in Fred2 now, it crashes and corrupts my mission file. I find this strange as I did have it in one of my missions and worked perfectly fine. But that one was just one fighter, I was trying to create a wing of them when Fred2 went South on me.

That's true and it does not have any normals, shine etc. Also, I will not be providing the original textures as they are already available at FSM in Aldos Model dump. No need to provide the same thing twice.

If that was in regards to MY post I did not ask for Aldo's.
I asked for Jade Hawk Version 1's. But if you got rid of them or don't want to release them I can respect that.

However, I'm still running into problems with Fred2. Seems when I try to create a mission, or add this into an existing one and try to save it, Fred2 goes nuts with errors and then crashes or wont save it at all then reverts back to the default mission editor screen.

Well I got a mission completed finally. I do believe the last two latest nightly build versions for Fred2 are buggy. Let's hope they fix whatever it is!
As for making the Green glow more brightly, I'll look into that. But don't hold your breath as I really like it as it is and only will consider it if it's better.

The way you textured the gunpoints reminds me of someone from the early NFS days... playing around with the colours and shadows and whatnot to make something 2D look 3D...

That's a result of my days when I made skins and templates for the Il2 flight sim. The models for that sim were even less detailed than what we have here. So sometimes ya gotta do what you gotta do to get the point across. :yes:
