The ideal Doctor should have the humour of Sylvester McCoy, the fatherly figure of Peter Davidson, and the believablilty of David Tennant.  I'll hold judgement on Matt until I see him in action, but I will say this, it will be a sad day when David regenerates.  Anyone who saw the Mr. Smith episiode will know what David brought to the role and will be a difficult Doctor to follow.

I heard about the Eleventh Doctor while browsing TV Tropes. I wonder how they're going to bump off David Tennant?

Well, he seems to be anti-companion at the moment, I think it may end up being something to do with that.
