Hey there, quick question.
I have no command briefing scroll buttons unless I am using the MediaVPs. (Using FSO 3.6.10 and newest mediaVPs) I did a quick search on the forums, and I only found info regarding mods like Blue Planet. I don't like using the medaVPs often because of long load times and I have to throw a lot of memory at Parallels Desktop from my main OS for it to run smoothly. Is this just a feature FSO doesn't have, or should I have them? If it doesn't have them normally, has anyone else made the campaign briefing scroll buttons appear in just plain FSO? Or do I have to extract them from the mediavps and somehow incorporate them into FSO? If the latter, I know how to find them/extract them, but not how to put them into a VP file or if FSO will know what to do with it.
I just find it irritating missing info on some briefings, or needing to make multiple briefing pages in FRED if you have a lot you need to say.
Not 100% sure this is the correct forum (Seems like the right place... :nervous:), move if needed.
Thanks for any help or info.

I have the same problem to, and I'm using the mediavps. But it's for both command briefings and normal briefings. (Hope I'm not missing some magic button that I click that makes it scroll down... :nervous:)

Well if you're running FSO in parallels, you could always try using an OSX build instead. If that isn't an option, getting MV_Core.vp should contain the required interface art, but not any of the graphical improvements.

Aaah, thanks so much! I don't know why I didn't have MV_Core in the first place, but downloading it and smacking it right into the FS folder solved the problem perfectly. :D

I'd still prefer if you placed it to \freespace2\mediavps\, since it is polite to not have any non-retail files in \freespace2\.

Mmmm, that is true. But, then wouldn't I have to use the launcher and select that folder as a Mod, therefore using the other MediaVPs as well?
-
You could make a new folder for it and then select that as the mod folder.
-
Either that or remove all the other MediaVPs and use the \mediavps\ folder as a mod.

Oh yeah.. duh.. shoulda thought of that. Thanks.
