It looks like he's not done updating it, cuz the link is still to the Sobek image.
-
Or he just wants to annoy us :P
-
I think I'm with blowfish on this.
-
I can see the Sanctus in the database.
-
It's worth noting, at this point, that the Sobek image has been on there for a while, for anyone willing to screw with URLs. Only recently was a thumbnail of the cruiser uploaded and linked to that image. Probably for the sake of annoying more people ;)
-
That's the point.
Can anyone recognise it from the thumbinal though?
-
Colonial Bolitho?
-
Well, I do see deimos-style texturing.
Though it could easily be retextured.
-
To give people an idea of the general shape of the cruiser, and yes to annoy people :P
-
To me, It looks like the X304 from Stargate.
-
The Daedelus? Not even close. The silhouette is wrong.
-
It's not a ship that has been released before, I'm almost sure of it.
-
*teal'c voice*
Indeed.
-
it looks like Axem's Cretheus... and maybe a little bastardized upishad thrown in?
-
:bump:
Time for a bump.
The UEC Sanctus revealed
(http://blueplanet.hard-light.net/sanctus.jpg)
-
You mean revealed, right? :nervous:
-
fixed
-
Looks like a giant EA shuttle with a bridge and turrets.
-
I don't think the blue Vexor textures go very well with the green deimos tiling.
Model looks hawt, but the color muxing on that is...frankly, terrible.
Kill the TCov2 or TCov3 whatever it is, and replace it with TCov1 or something else a neutral color. It'll help it a lot.
-
It looks a bit like a cicada. Or a beetle. :nervous:

Hmm, it kind of does . . . :nervous:
-
Ok, texture update...and another angle to show off the ship's lines.
-
/me hits SHIFT + COMMAND + R.
Yes, this is much better. It now looks more like a pocket battleship even though it isn't. ;)
-
My keyboard is broken I drooled on it.

I really don't get why all the sudden the Terrans are building fragile command bridges on their ships, and why do their fighters have traditional weapon pylons as an F-15 instead of internal bays - which would be the most logical for a space-based fighter... especially if you want it to be able to land on Earth...

They probably have a completely different design ethos to the GTVA.
-
Is it a bridge? Could be just some flight control/observation deck thing. Oh, and while external ammunition is something that is a bit unpractical for atmospheric reentry, if you can mount them without degrading combat performance, why not? More dakka FTW.

Actually external missles or missle-pods are far more logical, since you can simply drop them in case of an emergency landing to avoid them blowing your ship up.
Well.... that is for landing.
I agree that during the fight it seems smarter to have an armor plate around anything in or on my ship that might explode... but on the other hand they do have shields all around their ships.

Because --Steve-O--'s ships look sexy.

 Looks epic now.
Much Win.

To add on to that, I believe most HLPers think that his FTF MiG (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FTF_MiG) is beautiful. That ship's going to be the UEF Lao Tze in BP:WiH.

Really?
That's going to be pure win.

Ooo... looks a bit like parts of the new Nike Axem made...
