Note the name of this legislation: "The Scientific Education and Academic Freedom Act". One thing these antiscience jokers know well, and that’s their Orwell.

That had to be repeated =)

On the surface it seems like a good idea. I mean, +objectivity is never a bad thing, right? But it seems like it might provide excuses to downplay the importance of the existing scientific consensus. It's important to discuss the evidence for and against any theory, but generally if you have a large group of scientists who all agree on something then it might be a good idea to trust them.

PZ Myers has his take over at Pharyngula (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2009/01/here_we_go_again_mississippis.php) as well

I think the BadAstronomer covered this one. You can't report on both sides of science... one side is not science!

I don't know enough about this one to comment - it's not my field.

Since I live in Oklahoma and just got out of highschool.  There are some teachers I know that are going to not like it and mostly are just going to keep doing what they have always done.

I'm interested to see how long this will last but I didn't vote for them.

Can't be good to only give God credit for 6 thousand out of however many billion the universe has been in existence. :p

You'd think it was just backwoods retards, but I've met creationists in some of my AP classes.
