The message about taking damage is a training message displayed below your damage indicator area.
The first time through I was so busy going to an external view to see if it was really visible there that I forgot to actually do anything. :\
It wasn't a regular message. It was the type of message with light blue text that is traditionally used in training missions. It can display a larger block of text than usual and also looks cooler. The SEXP itself is "training-msg"The message about taking damage is a training message displayed below your damage indicator area.:wtf:
I did try to add an external Shivan model. I tried for the longest time, but I couldn't get it to work successfully. The problem is that the model is so small compared to your fighter (2m vs. 30m or whatever) that you can't even see it unless it's exactly in front of you and practically touching your fighter. And there's no way to achieve that level of accuracy without using SCP tricks. So I had to reluctantly drop the visual aspect. That's a real pity. If it were my choice I'd just make it super big despite the uproar from purists, for the cool effect.
Yeah, but I think the reactor is a separate model and a separate ship altogether.
That part freaked me out. I just started thinking, "Something landed on me? Wtf? Oh, snap. Shivan. Run. Dive, dive dive! HIT YOUR BURNERS, PILOT!"
I was pressing my afterburners just as the warning message came up so i was life "whoa! WTF was that!?"
I was only clued in when one of my wingmen said something had landed on her fighter
I was wondering if any of the training sexps were used. The part where you have to hit the afterburners is dangerously similar to the Instructor telling you to engage the afterburner.
Well I have another problem with this mission. I manage to survive the "entering" of my ship by hitting tab an waving constantly. But in the secon part of the mission I´m not able to save the transports, no matter what I do. When the second transport is destroyed there comes a massage that a third one is deployed but some seconds later the mission is lost because the escorted ship is gone. I ordered each ship to defend the transports and I helped them, but this didn´t work. What to do?Practice, or turn down the difficulty level. :) The mission is scripted to destroy the science cruiser if you lose both transports.
Make sure you destroy the shivan transports as well.I did this. No effect, the escorted transports die. Can this mission be skipped?
Get destroyed.I´m on easy and it´s really close...I´ll try it one more time :)
Really, though, are you on Very Easy? This mission shouldn't be that bad...
If you're playing a mod that uses FSPort, add 'fsport-mediavps' to the mod.ini just before 'fsport' in the SecondaryMod line.
